Episode #4 features Helena’s interview with prolific sewing blogger Lori VanManaan from Girls in the Garden. Lori sews for herself, her daughters and now her little grandson. She contributes to the Mood Sewing Network and IndieSew.com, so she has access to beautiful fabrics and the latest indie patterns. I always love what she creates, and she usually gives such handy construction advice and pattern insights, too. But my burning motivation to chat with Lori concerned her wonderful podcast Sew Forth Now, which was one of the first podcasts I encountered that was specific to garment sewing. I loved that podcast so much, and it is no secret what an inspiration it was for me in starting Clothes Making Mavens. We talked about the amazing guests she had on Sew Forth Now and what helpful information they offered so generously. I hope this interview inspires you to check out her old episodes as well as Lori’s current creations on her blog.

  1. I’m so happy I found you! I’ve been listening to your latest podcast with Lori (whom I’ve now subscribed to too!) It’s so much fun to listen to another sewer and how they pick their patterns, fabric and style to make.
